Seoul's newest night tourism attraction for 2024, SEOULDAL, is a tethered helium balloon that rises above Yeouido. This unique experience allows you to take in breathtaking night views of Seoul from the skies over Yeouido Park. SEOULDAL offers a stunning view of Seoul’s nightscape—while also shining as part of the nightscape itself.
Located in the center of COEX Mall, Starfield Library is an open public space where anyone can freely sit down, take a break, and immerse themselves in books along with other bibliophiles. A wide selection of books in genres such as humanities, economics, and hobbies is readily available. The library features dedicated sections for foreign books and renowned authors. iPads can be used to read e-books. Nearly 600 magazines, both domestic and international, are available for browsing. In addition, a variety of events take place here, such as author meet-and-greets, book talks, poetry readings, lectures, and even book concerts. The Seoul Hiking Tourism Center (Gwanaksan Mountain), located within Gwanaksan Station on the Sillim Line, provides various services for hiking enthusiasts. It focuses on Gwanaksan Mountain, yet also provides Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese information for other hiking trails in Seoul, including Bukhansan Mountain, Bugaksan Mountain, and Inwangsan Mountain. Visitors can also access guidebooks and brochures about Seoul’s hiking tourism. In addition to themed hiking programs tailored for foreigners, the center also rents out hiking gear, shoes, clothing, trekking poles, gloves, and crampons, extends these services to their local companions. Lockers are also available free of charge when using the gear rental service. In the lounge, visitors can also relax or create lasting memories with friends, family, or companions.
Opened in 2005, Seoul Forest is a sprawling urban park spanning about 495,868.5 square meters. It is a tranquil retreat where people of all ages can experience nature within the city. When cherry blossoms and tulips bloom in the spring, the forest is filled with families, couples, and friends enjoying outings together.
In the fall, it becomes a popular spot for people to enjoy music festivals amidst the cool breeze. Even in summer and winter, Seoul Forest stays a vibrant green space where people gather to enjoy the outdoors in fine weather. Seoul Forest consists of five themed areas: the Cultural and Arts Park, the Eco Forest, the Experiential Learning Park, the Wetland Eco Center, and the Hangang Riverside Park Project.
Recently, the neighborhood around Seoul Forest-Seongsu-dong-has emerged as a trendy cultural hotspot, with unique cafes, boutique shops, and art galleries popping up throughout the area.
Stretching 6.4 km along the southern banks of the Hangang River between Banpodaegyo Bridge and Dongjakdaegyo Bridge, Banpo Hangang Park was recently renovated under the city's "Hangang Renaissance Project". The park is also home to famous attractions like Banpodaegyo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain and Moonlight Square. The Moonlight Rainbow Fountain holds the Guinness World Record for the longest bridge fountain, featuring dynamic water jets and lights choreographed to music. Moonlight Square continues to attract many visitors with a variety of events and performances throughout the year. The park also features an inline‑skating facility and a dedicated eco‑friendly green space. Between Banpodaegyo Bridge and Dongjakdaegyo Bridge is Seoraeseom Island (Some Sevit), another popular attraction.
